Originally opened in 1931, Seattle’s Hotel Deca is a stylish 158 room full service "boutique hotel" in the heart of Seattle’s lively University District. With its panoramic Seattle and mountain views and comfortable, well-appointed rooms and suites, Hotel Deca offers contemporary accommodations featuring art-deco motifs. Hotel Deca is 100 percent non-smoking and also features wireless internet access.
A $2 million renovation concluded in January 2007 and includes improvements to the hotel lobby, grand ballroom, guest rooms, and building exterior. New furnishings and carpeting, new artwork, and a recessed wine bar grace the lobby. Its hall entrance exudes a modern, neo art-deco flavor to complement the building’s original design and architecture. The contemporary furnishings and bright colors showcased in the hotel’s award-winning penthouse suites are carried through in its public spaces. The Grand Ballroom has a new look and feel with a new coffered ceiling, hand-blown glass chandeliers, and upgraded audio/visual systems. Each guest room is appointed with new furnishings, upgraded lighting, conference phones, and clock radios with iPod docking stations. Completing the look, the hotel exterior will be enhanced with treatments to complement the building’s 1930s art-deco architecture.
